  Dr Lorimer studied at Aberdeen University and qualified in 1970 with a distinction in Paediatrics. Until 2001 Dr Lorimer was Principal and Senior Partner in Canterbury, Kent. Dr Lorimer is a former Royal College tutor, GP trainer and is presently an appraiser in GP.
Dr Lorimer has held judicial appointments with the Care Standards Tribunal and the Family Health Services Appeals Authority.

Dr Lorimer is particularly interested in occupational medicine, medico-legal issues, substance misuse and offender health.

Dr Lorimer is married with 3 sons and 2 step-daughters, enjoys walking and cycling and has completed a distance learning degree course in Antiques and Fine Art.
